A 30-year-old Guelph man was arrested early yesterday morning while officers were attempting to track down another man who had been receiving medical treatment following an overdose.
Paramedics had just revived a man following an opioid overdose at a residence on Wilsonview Avenue, when he got up and ran away.
Police arrived on scene and found another man hiding in a downstairs closet.
That male was wanted on an outstanding warrant and was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl and crack.
The suspect faces charges of possession, and multiple breaches of court orders.
The man who overdosed was never identified or located after running off.
A man riding a motorized scooter was treated for non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Waterloo and Gordon Street yesterday. The driver was charged with failing to signal when moving from a parked position.
