By one estimate, Ottawa is in the midst of a bed bug “epidemic.” David Saunders, who has been working in pest control for the last 20 years, says he thinks it's out of control. Saunders says he used to get about two calls a day about bed bugs, but that has jumped to between 15 and 20 calls a day in the last month. He says the calls come from homes across the city and he suspects many cases involve people bringing the bugs back with them from vacation.
