Terry Fox Would Have Been 52 Today
Wednesday, July 28, 2010
I still have vivid memories of running with Terry Fox on a September day in 1980, here in Guelph. A group of runners usually joined him on his city runs, to help collect donations for his Marathon of Hope, for cancer research. His Guelph run began at the Root plaza, wound through the downtown area and took him out York Road, on his way to Rockwood. He raised over $10,000.00 in our city, $24 million in total. His Marathon of Hope has continued over the years. We'll update all of this year's run dates and locations in early September. Terry Fox, a Canadian legend.
