Not to detract from Canada's impressive 7-3 hockey win last night over Russia, but how about Clara Hughes.  She kicked off the most successful day of the Olympics, one of the best days ever for Canada , with a bronze medal in the women's 5000m speed skating event.  Canadians would go on to capture a gold and two silver medals as well on Wednesday.  The Hughes accomplishment was significant for a couple of different reasons.  It was her final appearance at the Olympic games and her 6th medal.  That ties her with Cindy Klassen as our most successful Olympians ever.  Clara holds one distinction all by herself; she's the only Canadian to capture medals in both the summer and winter Oylmpics.  She has won two medals in cycling and four speed skating medals.  Congratulations Clara!
