The Guelph/Washington Connection
Thursday, July 15, 2010
Forward Brian Willsie scored one of the biggest goals in the histiory of the Guelph Storm in the spring of 1998. He scored the game and series winning goal late in the 3rd period of game five in the OHL final, against the Ottawa 67s, to give the Storm their first OHL championship. In fact Willsie had the game winner in three of those four wins. Brian just signed a free agent contract yesterday with the NHL Washington Capitals. That'll make two Guelph connections on that Capitals team. The Washington GM is Guelph native George McPhee.
