Who knew? My pants have “Whiskers”…and apparently that’s a good thing. Let me explain. I am no “fashionista” (ask anyone who works with me) but I thought I knew everything that I needed to know about my favourite article of clothing: The durable, versatile “good for almost any occasion except funerals and weddings” denim jeans. A few weeks ago my wife bought me a new pair and told me they were “sexy jeans”. Ok, whatever. As long as they are comfy. If they make me “sexy” then so be it. I don’t care.
Last night I was searching through the closet for my new “sexy jeans” and I couldn’t seem to find them. I asked her to refresh my memory (in my defence, I only wore them once. All jeans kind of look the same to me). That’s when it got weird.
She said: “they have whiskers”.
To quote a famous radio character: “I say’s pardon?”
“Whiskers” she replies. Like everyone should know that pants have specialized hairs normally used for tactile sensation.
“Whiskers, you know those little crinkles in the knees and butt”
“Ahhhhh….like those little things that have appeared around your eyes since you turned 40?” (I didn’t actually say that or I wouldn’t be typing this blog right now….but it did cross my mind).
Whiskers? On jeans? Who knew? Did I pay extra for those? Probably. That’s what I love about life. You learn something new every day. Time to go slip into my new “sexywhiskers” jeans.
