I will change that tomorrow. My wife has convinced me to go to Vancouver for a week. I will come back with many stories. Have a great week ahead and enjoy the sunshine.

Dagwood Bumstead

Here come my childhood memories back again. Today is Dagwood Bumstead's birthday. No one apparently knows how old he is.
Let's go way back with some trivia for you. In 28 Blondie movies in the 1930's 40's and 50's, was hubby Dagwood Bumstead played by actor A. Will Hutchins B. Arthur Lake or C. Danny Mummert? I would take a long time to answer this one, but the answer is
Arthur Lake. Lake died a very wealthy man in 1987 at age 82.
If you ever get a chance to check out a Blondie movie, do so. That's why I love Turner Classic Movies network. You get to see that stuff just about every day. It brings back some real neat memories.
No new movies opening on the big screen this weekend. I wonder why.

Eric Hilliard

It was on this day that Eric Hiliard was born. Who is Eric Hilliard? You may be surprised. He was born to Ozzie and Harriet Nelson of Teaneck, New Jersey. At the tender age of 16 he sang I'm Walkin" on the family TV show. In 1985 he died in a plane crash.
Some of his hit songs were, Poor Little Fook, Hello Mary Lou, Travelin Man, Lonesome Town, Young World and Garden Party. You have probably figured out now who I am talking about.
Ricky Nelson, one of my favorites of the 50s and 60s.

"Marvels - The Avengers" was a huge winner with a North American box office of 200 million dollars. There just wasn't room for much else. In second place came "Think Like A Man" with a mere 8 million. Considering the Hunger Games has been out for several weeks now, it still didn't do too badly with a gross of close to 6 million. "The Lucky One' and "The Misfits" rounded out the top 5. This was a huge weekend for the beginning of the summer box office .
Still some big films to come. Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows" with Johnny Depp opens next week. "Battleship" comes on the 18th.
Men in Black 3 appears on screens May 25th. The musical "Rock of Ages" will be here on on June 15th. Lots more coming, so let's you and I go out ...

Dallas is coming back

Today is May 3rd, 2012. Now get set for the new Dallas, coming to the TNT Network. It begins with episode number 1 on June 13th.

Back in the 60's she was one of my favorite singers. No, she didn't have a ton of hits back then but what she had out was good. Leslie was born in New York City on this day back in 1946.Her biggest hit was "It's My Party" back in 1963. Other Top 10 hits included "She's A Fool" and "You don't own me".Gore performed on the Batman TV series back in 1967. Gore released the hit song , Wedding Bell Blues in 1969. Her version flopped but the 5th Dimensions version went right to the top. She wrote songs that composed the soundtrack for the film Fame which came out in 1980. She returned to do some recording again in 2005. One of my favorite ...

Movie Facts You Never Knew

I always get a kick out of stuff like this. The actress is now going to guest star on The Client List, Lifetime's new drama starring Jennifer Love Hewitt. It will star Hewitt as Riley, an erotic masseuse.
White will play Ruth Gibbons, the wife of one of Riley's clients. It seems White's character has some advice on how to make a marriage last. Not only that, but she could be giving advice on how to be such a successful actress for so many years.
More power to her.
